MakerBot on a Bike!

Riding with a MakerBot on the handlebars!

This morning I had to go pick up my MakerBot from NYCResistor and bring it over to the BotCave for our Office Hours event tonight. I threw it on the handlebars and rode over.

Don’t try this at home. Even though this worked for me, upon arriving at my destination, I realized that if I had one emergency stop, the machine could have gone over the handlebars into oncoming traffic and even though I biked slow, it hampered my steering. What I really need to transport my MakerBot safely is a rack on the back, but modified for MakerBots. Hmm, maybe I can modify the bike mounts (1, 2)that have been showing up on Thingiverse!
